Chapels Given Permission as a Place for Marriage

The parish church is the ordinary place for the celebration of Catholic marriages. Marriage is not merely a private or familial celebration, the sacrament takes place when spouses declare their consent before 'God and the Church'. The couple then lives out their commitment in and with the local parish community. It is therefore fitting that the marriage celebration should take place in the parish church.

The Catholic chapels listed below may be used for a Catholic wedding; however, wedding plans must be coordinated through one of the parishes of the Archdiocese.

There are other Catholic chapels in the Archdiocese where a Catholic wedding could occur. Before planning a wedding at such a venue, a request for its use must be made to and approved by the Archdiocese through one of the parishes of the Archdiocese. Booking the venue before requesting its use will not compel the Archdiocese to approve the venue.
