Position Description

St. Thecla Catholic School is seeking a full-time preschool teacher for the 4-year-old State Certified program for the 2019-2020 school year. This position is full time Monday through Friday from

Qualifications/Requirements

All teachers in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and /or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan.  All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach.  All teachers who are catechist,(teachers of religion), must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools.

-Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or ZA/ZS endorsement, preferred

-Catechist Certified (or willingness to obtain certification)

-Protecting God's Children Training completed (or willingness to complete)
-Experience working in an early childhood program.

-Carry out and fulfill the mission of the school while modeling the Catholic moral codes.
-Encourage, inspire, and nurture preschool aged children to experience God's love and wonder of creation and to begin their Catholic faith journey.
-Meet State of Michigan Licensing requirements including: Criminal History Background Check, Fingerprinting, TB test, Physical, CPR and First aid certified, as well as complete professional development hours throughout the school year

-Strong written and verbal communication skills
-Participate in faculty meetings, committees, and in-services as needed

-Attend other school functions and activities as needed
