Archbishop Vigneron Promulgates Norms for the Implementation of Traditionis custodes in the Archdiocese of Detroit

In the name of the Lord. Amen.

I, the Most Reverend Allen H. Vigneron, Archbishop of Detroit, after carefully studying the Holy Father Pope Francis' Motu Proprio Traditionis custodes and taking into consideration the great gift and the great blessing that worship using the ancient rite of the Mass has been in the Archdiocese of Detroit, do promulgate these norms for implementation of Traditiones custodes, so that the Mass celebrated according to the 1962 Missale Romanum and, in a more limited measure, its complementary liturgies, may continue in a spirit of unity with and obedience to the magisterium of the Church. Effective July 1, 2022, mindful of the preparatory steps that will need to occur before then.

Given at Detroit, Michigan, this fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-two.
