Archbishop Allen Vigneron statement on the shootings at New Zealand mosques

The Department of Communications shares the following statement from Archbishop Allen H. Vigneron, in response to the March 15 shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand:

On behalf of the all of the Catholic faithful of southeast Michigan, I offer prayers and condolences to the Muslim community throughout the world, especially in New Zealand, as they mourn the horrific violence that unfolded Friday in two houses of worship. We pledge a renewed commitment in our society to building a solid foundation of justice and solidarity, respecting the rights and dignity of all persons.
