New Archbishop introduced to Detroit
Joe Kohn
Detroit - Applause and even some cheers filled the room as Archbishop-elect Allen Vigneron was escorted in front of priests, Church employees, media and Catholic school students at Sacred Heart Major Seminary to be introduced as the next shepherd of the archdiocese.

A dialogue with Archbishop-elect Vigneron
Joe Kohn
Bishop Allen H. Vigneron, named to the Diocese of Oakland, Calif. in 2003, was appointed Jan. 5 by Pope Benedict XVI to succeed Cardinal Adam Maida as the next archbishop of Detroit. Preparing to leave California for his introduction to the priests and people of Detroit, he spoke over the phone with Michigan Catholic staff reporter Joe Kohn.
