Tuition Assistance & Scholarships
Through the generosity of donors to the Stewards for Tomorrow Campaign, an endowment fund was created which provides tuition assistance grants to our Catholic families, as well as a limited amount of funds to non-Catholic families. Each year, awards will be made to offset tuition expenses for children of Catholic families who establish need and who both reside within the Archdiocese of Detroit AND whose children attend the traditional kindergarten through 12th grade in Catholic schools located within the boundaries of the Archdiocese of Detroit.

The Parent Information Document details the process, deadline dates and other essential information. It is important to read this document in its entirety before you apply for tuition assistance. For questions regarding your Pastor Signature Form, please contact your student’s current school or the school you are applying to.
Tuition Awards are not given on a first-come, first-served basis, but we encourage families to apply as early as possible instead of waiting until the deadline. Since several documents need to be uploaded and verified by FACTS, waiting until the last day could delay processing and affect your ability to receive tuition assistance for the upcoming school year.
St. Anne’s Scholars Fund
Fondly named after our patron saint of the Archdiocese and the city of Detroit, the St. Anne Scholars Fund is open to any student whose family demonstrates financial need and a desire to attend a K-8 school within the Archdiocese of Detroit.
Applications are administered through the Catholic Foundation of Michigan and will open in the Spring for principals, pastors, and administrators to nominate families for the subsequent school year. If you are a pastor or principal interested in nominating a family or a donor interested in supporting this fund, please email Christina@CatholicFoundationMichigan.org.
St. Martin de Porres Scholarship Fund
Inspired by the life of St. Martin de Porres, the St. Martin de Porres scholarship fund was created to provide scholarship grants to K-8 students demonstrating financial need and involved and interested in Latin American communities.
Applications are administered through the Catholic Foundation of Michigan and will open in the Spring for principals, pastors, and administrators to nominate families for the subsequent school year. Education for a Brighter Future Endowed Fund
Established in 2001 as a partner of the Children’s Scholarship Fund in New York, the Education for a Brighter Future Endowed Fund provides scholarships to students and families who desire a Catholic or private school education at Wayne County and Pontiac schools and demonstrate a financial need. Families may apply for students entering grades K-5. Once in the program, a student can remain through 8th grade provided the financial need qualification is met.
Applications will be open in the Spring for the subsequent school year.
College Scholarship Opportunities
The Del Papa-Grimaldi-Gabriele Scholarship
The Del Papa-Grimaldi-Gabriele Scholarship is offered to high school seniors and first and second-year college students residing in the Archdiocese of Detroit. The fund will provide one or more scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year for high school seniors and one or more for first and second-year college students of approximately $2,000.00 each. Application information for the 2026–27 academic year coming soon.
The Lilo Wendell Scholarship
The Lilo Wendell Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to provide college or university scholarship grants to deserving high-school seniors and first and second-year college students who are Catholic daughters of single mothers and are members of a parish in the Archdiocese of Detroit. The fund will provide one or more scholarships for the 2024-2025 academic year for high school seniors and one or more for first and second-year college students of approximately $4,000.00 each. The McLaughlin Scholarship
Established in memory of Catherine A. McLaughlin, the Archdiocese of Detroit extends this one-time scholarship in her name to graduating students from Catholic high schools in the city of Detroit to assist with college or university expenses. High school counselors with the approval of the school principal recommend selected students for this scholarship. There is no open application process for this scholarship.
