Regarding St. Patrick Church

On August 16, 2022, Archbishop Allen Vigneron issued a decree relegating St. Patrick Church in midtown Detroit to secular but not unbecoming use. This means that Saint Patrick Church will no longer be used for worship and can be sold. As you may be aware, Saint Patrick ceased operations in 2015 and at the time some of the Saint Patrick territory was given to our parish, which is why we have been asked to announce this recent decision to permanently close Saint Patrick Church. Up until now, there was some hope that it could continue to be used for Catholic worship by a religious order or other such circumstance. No such use has been identified. A certified copy of the decree may be obtained from the office upon request.
