Reverend Lawrence Kaiser

Reverend Lawrence Herman Kaiser passed from this life on May 3, 2026, at the age of 88.

Father was born on March 5, 1938, in Dearborn, Michigan, and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 6, 1964.

Father Kaiser served as Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Dearborn; Saint Albert the Great Parish, Dearborn Heights; and Saint Gerard Parish, Detroit. He served as Administrator of Saint Edith Parish, Livonia and as Vicar for the Old Dearborn Vicariate. Father Kaiser also served as Parochial Vicar for Saint Mary of Redford Parish, Detroit; Saint Angela Parish, Roseville; and Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Waterford. Father Kaiser received Senior Status on July 1, 2008.

Father Kaiser was preceded in death by his parents, Herman J. Kaiser and Caroline A. (nee Buettner) Kaiser, and his siblings, Jack, Eugene, and Dale. He is survived by his sister Diane Fisher; his nephew Scott Fisher, his nieces Robyn Fisher and Sherri Burke, great-nieces, and his great-nephew.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home (22546 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Michigan 48124) from 1:00–8:00 p.m. There will be a Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m.

Father Kaiser will lie in state on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 22430 Michigan Avenue, Dearborn, Michigan 48124, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.
