Archdiocese of Detroit parishes to hold Listening Sessions as part of historic Restructuring effort
The Archdiocese of Detroit is launching Parish Listening Sessions across the region as part of its ongoing parish restructuring process, inviting Catholics to share their perspectives and help shape the future of their local parish communities.
These sessions mark a key moment in the archdiocese’s two-year journey to strengthen parish life, support priests, and ensure a vibrant and sustainable Catholic presence for future generations. Each parish will host two sessions, totaling more than 400 sessions across southeast Michigan beginning in April and concluding in June. All Catholics are encouraged to attend and lend their voices as the local Church listens and discerns together.
The upcoming Parish Listening Sessions are meant to offer parishioners a respectful and comfortable space to speak candidly about their opinions and desires for the future of the parish community. For that reason, the sessions will be closed to media—no photos, video or audio recording, or interviews—so participants can share openly without concern for public coverage.
The Archdiocese of Detroit will be coordinating pre-session interviews at select locations in April to help ensure the public remains appropriately informed throughout the process.
MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES:
Media are invited to attend the following locations for pre-session interviews. At each location, media will have the opportunity to interview Fr.
