Reverend Howard Vogan

Reverend Howard Vogan passed from this life on October 29, 2025, at the age of 82.

Father Vogan was born on May 9, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 7, 1969.

Father Vogan served as Parochial Vicar of Saint Rita Parish, Detroit and Saint Regis Parish, Bloomfield Hills. He served as pastor at Saint Joseph Parish, South Lyon; Saint Genevieve Parish, Livonia and Saint Maurice, Livonia until the two parishes merged in 2012. Father Vogan served as pastor of the combined Saint Genevieve-Saint Maurice Parish until he was granted Senior Status July 1, 2020. Father Vogan also served for the Metropolitan Tribunal.

Father Vogan is predeceased by his parents, Howard and Margaret Vogan, his sister Margaret “Meg” Vogan, nephew Scott Vogan, niece Rachel Vogan, and grandnephew Hayden Vogan. Father Vogan is survived by his sister, Dolores Onnenga (the late Harry Onnenga), as well as many nieces and nephews.

Father Vogan will lie in state at Saint Genevieve-Saint Maurice Parish, 29015 Jamison Street, Livonia, Michigan 48154, on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 12 noon. Burial will be at a later date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield/
