Deacon Robert Bovitz

Deacon Robert Bovitz, passed on from this life on June 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Deacon Bovitz is survived by his beloved wife, Micki, 4 children, 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and predeceased by his son, Ken.

Deacon Bovitz was born September 17, 1935, and was ordained to the Permanent Diaconate on October 14, 2000.

Deacon Bovitz served his first assignment at St. Joseph in Trenton from the time of his ordination until 2002, followed by an assignment at St. Pius X in Southgate until his retirement in 2020. Additionally, Deacon Bovitz spent some time on the Archdiocesan Deacon’s Council.

Deacon Bovitz's visitation will take place on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 2 - 9 p.m. at Martenson Family of Funeral Homes, The Trenton Chapel, 3200 West Road, Trenton, MI 48183.

Deacon Bovitz’s funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at 12:30 p.m., at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 14000 Superior Street, Southgate, MI 48195. There will be no in state prior to Mass.
