Reverend Donald Sopiak

Reverend Donald Sopiak, passed from this life on March 4, 2021 at the age of 71.

Father Sopiak was born on September 8, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan, and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese ofDetroit on September 9, 1978.

Father Sopiak served as Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Parish, Detroit; and as Associate Pastor of St. Dennis Parish, Royal Oak; St. Dorothy Parish, Center Line; and St. Suzanne – Our Lady Gate of Heaven Parish, Detroit.

Visitation for Father Sopiak will take place on Saturday, March 13, 2021, at St. Malachy Parish, 14115 Fourteen Mile Road, Sterling Heights, Michigan 48312, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of his funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.COVID-19 guidelines will be followed.

Father Sopiak is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Diana (nee Pulczynski) Sopiak. He is survived by his brother Ken (Carol) Sopiak; nephews, Kenneth and Kevin Sopiak; as well as great nieces and nephews.
