Statement Regarding Fr Jan Tyminski

Fr. Jan (John) Tyminski (1906-1984). Ordained in 1935. More than three decades after his death*, an allegation of the sexual abuse of minor was brought forward to the Archdiocesan Review Board, considered and deemed to be credible.

Five years after his ordination in Poland, Fr. Tyminski was incarcerated in German concentration camps. He arrived in the U.S. in 1950 and spent a year at SS. Cyril and Methodius Seminary in Orchard Lake. From 1951 until his retirement in 1976, he served in five archdiocesan parishes.
