We are happy to announce that the Archdiocese of Detroit has partnered with eCatholic, one of the largest providers of digital tools for the Catholic Church.

Through this partnership, parishes can build their website using a template designed exclusively for the Archdiocese of Detroit and optimized for mission. Parishes and schools will also have the option to easily add content from the Archdiocese of Detroit directly onto their websites. This content includes: Unleash the Gospel, Detroit Catholic, Detroit Catholic en Espanol, live streams from the Archdiocese of Detroit (Masses, rosaries, and other liturgies), COVID-19 updates, and more.

Who is eCatholic?

eCatholic is one of the largest providers of digital tools for the Catholic Church, serving more than5,000 dioceses, parishes, schools, and ministries in 50 states and 20 countries.

Why did the Archdiocese of Detroit decide to partner with eCatholic?

What is the partnership?

Through this partnership, parishes and schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit will be able to upgrade to a beautiful website that is very easy to use and maintain. 

Parishes can build eCatholic websites using a template that has been designed exclusively for the Archdiocese of Detroit and, importantly, that is optimized for mission.

Parishes and schools will also have the option to easily add content from the Archdiocese of Detroit directly to their websites. This content includes: Unleash the Gospel, Detroit Catholic, Detroit Catholic en Español, live streams from the Archdiocese of Detroit (Masses, rosaries, and other liturgies), COVID-19 updates, and more.

Besides websites, what other services does eCatholic provide?

eCatholic also provides online donation and payments, live streaming, stock photos, and graphic design. These additional services are not included in the partnership with the Archdiocese of Detroit but can be purchased separately if the parish chooses to.

Can I view the custom template?

Yes. The National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica in Royal Oak recently used the new custom-designed template to beautifully overhaul their website. You may view it at https://www.shrinechurch.com/

How much does it cost to get a website with eCatholic? What is included in the monthly fee?

Parishes and schools that choose to use eCatholic will be charged $50 per month for each website (e.g., if there are separate websites for a parish and parish-based school, the monthly fee is $100). The monthly fee includes a website, CMS (content management system), hosting, VIP support, and ongoing updates.

Through this partnership, parishes will not pay the $350 migration fee to move content from current website to new eCatholic website.

How will our parish or school be billed?

Through the archdiocesan partnership, parishes will be billed every month by the Archdiocese of Detroit. You will not be billed by eCatholic.

Do I have to use the Archdiocese of Detroit template to build my website or can I use any of the other templates?

No, you do not have to use the Archdiocese of Detroit-custom template, but we highly encourage you to consider switching to the custom template. Our team in the Archdiocese of Detroit created a design that matches the missionary focus of our faith community: serving not only current parishioners, but also those who are seeking engagement with the Church and parishes.

The template also makes the parish website more welcoming by prioritizing the most important information, eliminating content that is a distraction to the end-user, and highlighting the life and ministry of the parish.

If I’m an existing eCatholic customer, do I have do anything? What will change with the partnership?

Since you are an existing eCatholic customer, your parish will receive a communication from eCatholic with more details about the change. You will receive refunds from eCatholic pro-rated for the rest of the year and then will be billed by the Archdiocese of Detroit going forward.

Is there an additional cost to move to the new AOD website template?

No. Other than the $50 monthly fee per website, there is no additional cost to switch to the new mission-focused template designed exclusively for our Archdiocese of Detroit parishes.
