He who confers benefits will be amply enriched, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed (Proverbs 11:25).
Christ calls each of us to be His disciples. We have a special opportunity to answer His call through our Catholic Services Appeal. Each year, we are able to renew our personal commitment to more fully participate as good stewards in His mission for the Church. What a blessing!
We, the faithful of the Archdiocese of Detroit, are the Body of Christ. As His Body, every day, in some way through CSA-funded ministries, programs, and services, our gifts impact the lives of thousands in southeast Michigan and beyond.
This year’s CSA theme is Serve One Another, emphasizing Christ’s Gospel message that all will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another (John 13:35). This is indeed fitting as the Church focuses on the New Evangelization — spreading the Good News of Christ to the world.
Through the CSA, we share Christ’s message by serving countless people in ways we may not realize. All of us, personally and through our parishes, enjoy the fruits of the work of the Archdiocesan Central Services departments of Communications; Development and Stewardship; Evangelization, Catechesis, and Schools; and Parish Life and Services. Our gifts to the CSA also support the Office of Priestly Vocations, Sacred Heart Major Seminary, and the Metropolitan Tribunal. When we use God’s blessing to make our annual pledge to the CSA, we join with all of our sisters and brothers in Christ throughout the Archdiocese to do the Lord’s work — work that no one individual or parish can do alone.
