On behalf of the all of the Catholic faithful of southeast Michigan, I offer prayers and condolences to the Muslim community throughout the world, especially in New Zealand, as they mourn the horrific violence that unfolded Friday in two houses of worship. We pledge a renewed commitment in our society to building a solid foundation of justice and solidarity, respecting the rights and dignity of all persons.
