The funeral Mass for Officer Michael Krol, the former Wayne County Sheriff officer who was killed in an attack on law enforcement officials in Dallas this month, will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 17101 West Chicago in Redford Township. St. Robert Bellarmine pastor Fr. Richard Leliaert will preside.

Officer Krol's body is scheduled to arrive at St. Robert Bellarmine between 8 and 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Visitation will take place one hour prior to the funeral Mass, from 10 until 11 a.m. Following the funeral Mass, burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

Due to the dignity attached to this occasion and the family's request for personal space, please know that no recording devices -- video, audio or still photography -- will be allowed in the church, cemetery or elsewhere on these properties. We likewise ask that no media interviews take place on the church or cemetery properties.

Please know that the logistics of the funeral services, parking, and transportation between the funeral home, church, and cemetery have been coordinated by the Wayne County Sheriff, in cooperation with local police and with the Sheriffs & Municipal Memorial Assistance Response Team (SMMART). Officers on-site will direct news media in regards to parking.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation with these law enforcement officials, and for your professional sensitivity to the family's and the community's need for personal space at this difficult time.
