Br. Michael Drobnicki, OFM Cap. entered eternal life on January 16, 2018 at the age of 71.
Br. Drobnicki was born on October 29, 1946. He was invested in the Capuchin habit in 1968 and perpetually professed in 1973. Brother served on the provincial vocation office staff from 1975-1979. He served on staff at Queen of Angels Retreat Center in Saginaw, MI from 1979-1984 and again from 1992-1995. He spent a year in pastoral ministry in Fargo, ND, and served in internal ministries in Detroit for 28 years until his retirement in 2016.
Visitation will be held at St. Bonaventure Chapel, 1740 Mt. Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207 on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 2 – 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Bonaventure Monastery, 1740 Mt. Elliott Street, Detroit, MI 48207.
Brother Drobnicki was predeceased by his parents, William and Lawrencia (nee Majchrzak) Drobnicki. He is survived by his sister, Deborah McNamee and his brother, David, as well as many Capuchin brothers with whom he lived, prayed, and ministered for more than 50 years.
