Position Description

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Develop and maintain database using multiple sources of data.  Ensure data standards and integrity.  Develop and present simple interactive dashboards that inform decision making.
 
                               ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS REQUIRED BY THIS JOB
 
  1. Adapt and maintain centralized data usage system incorporating proprietary internal and public externally sourced data from multiple sources.
  2. Collaborate with the Process and Data Technology Team to gather requirements for a central data repository (database), and assist in the definition of an integrated data model.
  3. Identify analytical requirements and propose short and long-term solutions to deliver on these needs.
  4. Develop clear, standardized, and interactive dashboards and other formats to deliver data for Parish, School, Vicariate and Regional profiles, for parish and school transitions, and planning decision making, and for other departments/offices.
  5. Serve as a back up for other office staff to map data, for surveys, and reporting.
  6. Work with central service staff, parish and school leadership to identify and interpret unique analytical requirements and design solutions. Relate to and research other dioceses, governmental agencies (US Census, Semcog, others) and national planning studies (CARA, PEW, NCEA, NALM, etc.) to incorporate local and national data and trends.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in planning or related field, and a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Must have an expertise working with databases, statistical packages, and extensive experience with planning software:  SQL, Smartsheet, MicroSoft Power BI., Teams and excel, ARC GIS, Survey Monkey, and demographic software required.
  •  Ability to evaluate technology solutions and learn new applications. 
  • Must have an understanding of strategic planning and project management. 
  • Must relate well with people and have strong organizational and presentation skills. 
  • Must be able to travel occasionally throughout the Archdiocese and work some evenings and weekends.
