33 Day Marian Consecration

Tue, Nov 5 – Sun, Dec 8

Join us in this 33 Day Consecration to Mary for young adults!  Do you want to take advantage of one of “the surest, easiest, shortest, and the most perfect means” to becoming a saint, according to St. Louis de Montfort?
WHO: Young Adults
WHAT: Join your fellow young adults in consecrating yourself to Jesus through Mary. Marian consecration basically means giving Mary our full permission to complete her motherly task of bringing us close to Jesus, to form us into other Christ & to be saints.  When we give Mary that permission, she begins to work powerfully in our lives and doesn’t stop unless we deliberately take back our permission.
WHERE: Click Going on Facebook if you want to participate, signup to receive text reminders for our preparation by texting “33MARY” to 84576, and get your copy of the book https://amzn.to/32DLlQi so you can participate in the preparation!  If you missed the start day, it’s ok.
WHEN: Each day beginning on Tuesday, November 5th, you’ll have a prayer and short reading connected to 4 Marian saints, St. Louis de Montfort, St. Maximilian Kolbe, St. Mother Teresa, and Pope St. John Paul II.  to reflect on through the day.  We’ll be using Fr. Michael Gaitley’s book, “33 Days to Morning Glory”.  After 33 days of preparation, we will make our prayer of consecration on the traditional date of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Sunday, December 8th.  You are invited to join us together that evening at 6pm at St. Mary in Royal Oak to pray a rosary, make our consecration, and then time for social afterwards.

These relationships require grace and the interior freedom to choose to bring kindness, empathy, and peace to each interaction. Sarah Kaczmarek, the associate director of Alpha in a Catholic Context, strives to bring Christ’s presence into every situation especially in places where people are far from God. In this month’s Disciples’ Night talk, Sarah will draw on her experiences of being the hands and feet of Jesus for others to encourage us to do the same. Sarah is a peacemaker, come learn her thoughts and insights on how we can too and therefore ‘be called children of God.’
Young Adult Pizza & Theology Night with Fr. Charles Fox
Fri, Nov 8 | 6:30-8:30pm | Miles Christi Family Center | South Lyon
Young adults are invited to dig into their Faith and discuss theological topics you can apply to your own life, and enjoy pizza and fun time with friends! This evening's topic will be "More Than a Memory: Christ's Promise of Life After Death" presented by Fr. Charles Fox.  Death is a deep and difficult mystery, one that confronts every person. The thought of death inspires fear, sadness, and despair in many, but Catholics believe Christ has conquered death and offers the promise of eternal life with God. But what does this mean? What does the process of dying look like for a believer in Christ? Why do we pray for the dead, and what role do the Church's funeral rites play in commending the souls of the faithful departed to God? What does it mean to "hope" in Christ? Is heaven guaranteed for everyone? Is hell a real possibility? November is a month especially dedicated to praying for our beloved dead, and for all the souls in Purgatory, and so this talk by Fr. Charles Fox will consider these and other questions of special relevance at this time of year.
