Exodus 90

Mon, Jan 13 – Sat, Apr 11

Young man, are you looking to break from old ways of living and habits to experience the freedom Christ made you for?  What if, in 3 months, you could do that?  In the spiritual exercise of Exodus 90 you’ll walk through the book of Exodus, commit to daily prayer, and, through practices of self-denial of modern comforts and technological distractions, you’ll open yourself up to God, your loved ones, and to your new brothers, as well, in a small group that meets weekly for personal prayer and accountability.  If you want to fight to take back your freedom, and open yourself up to the life and love God wants for you, then join your brothers in Christ in the Archdiocese of Detroit in 2020 as we take up the challenge of Exodus 90 together beginning on Monday, January 13th, ending on Holy Saturday, April 11th..

For more info and to participate click on the link to go to the “Exodus 90 – Detroit Catholic Young Adults Facebook Group” and click “Join”.

The Adventure of Discipleship – FREE Online Course

Join the Sacred Heart Major Seminary family this Advent season and participate in a free non-credit online course taught by Sacred Heart’s own Dr. Daniel Keating, professor of Theology. “The Adventure of Discipleship” is based on Dr. Keating’s book by the same title.  In this new course, Dr. Keating encourages participants to look at discipleship to Jesus Christ through the lens of adventure stories. Comprised of weekly lecture videos, reading materials, movie clips, discussion boards, and personal assessment quizzes, the self-paced program dives into classic adventures such as The Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, and many other pop culture superheroes and TV characters to provide reflections on the Gospels and insight into the greatest adventure story of all time – a life with Jesus Christ. The four-week course runs from December 1, 2019 to December 28, 2019. The course will cover themes from Dr. Keating’s book The Adventure of Discipleship.  For more info and to register click here.

When everything is stripped away, who are we before God? Though Earthly possessions have value, they can easily distract and draw our attention off of God and onto ourselves.
