The Sacrament of Confirmation for adults will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral on Pentecost, May 28, at 11:00 a.m.
Adults should be encouraged to participate in your parish celebration of Confirmation. However, when this is not possible, they should be invited to participate in the Archdiocesan Confirmation ceremony. It is the responsibility of the individual parish to prepare these adults catechetically and pastorally for the celebration of the Sacrament.
We use an online form for submitting your adult confirmandi. Please submit your response using this form by May 10 to be assured of inclusion. Be sure to include full names and the confirmation name in your response. If you have any questions or concerns, please e-mail valenti.patricia@aod.org. If you wish to add more names after your original list has been submitted, you can submit an additional request using the online form above.
Beginning the week of May 15, individual tickets for the confirmandi will be mailed to you. The tickets should be filled out by your parish. These cards should be presented by the candidate to the assisting priest when the person approaches the altar to receive the Sacrament.
The identification cards (tickets) will be returned to your parish shortly after May 28. The names of those confirmed should be entered in the parochial Confirmation Register of your own parish, and the sacramental information should be updated in each member's record within ParishSOFT. Your parish is then responsible for issuing the proper notification to the parish of Baptism.
