World Mission Sunday: A Local Celebration of the International Church

Oct 23 12:00PM

St. Paul on the Lake in Grosse Pointe Farms

Pope Pius XI instituted Mission Sunday for the whole Church in 1926; the first worldwide Mission Sunday took place in October of 1927. World Mission Sunday, organized by the Society for the Propagation of the Faith, is a day for Catholics to once again commit themselves to the missions of the Church.

The Archdiocese of Detroit has been reinvigorated in its effort to evangelize and share the Gospel. World Mission Sunday is an event meant to showcase the diversity of our diocese. Locally-based, international missionaries, the PIME Missionaries invite everyone in the Metro Detroit area to this celebratory Mass, that rotates churches every year. 2022 will take place during the noon Mass at St. Paul on the Lake in Grosse Pointe Farms.
