Young people experience Christ radiated from communities which intentionally welcome, form and guide them as missionary disciples. This workshop assists parishes in implementing th enew papal document, “Christus Vivit – Christ is Alive”, by exploring the process for the adolescent faith journey, presenting best practices for teaching discipleship with youth, and sharing a vision for becoming a community of witnesses using direction provided by The Joy of Adolescent Catechesis document published by the NFCYM, NCEA, and NCCL, in collaboration with the USCCB. Sessions include:
- Proclaiming the Heart of the Gospel to Young People Today
- Teaching Youth Discipleship
- Radiating Christ - Witnessing Faith
This workshop includes practical ideas and starting points as we explore the ministry implications for youth ministry, catechesis, sacramental preparation, and parish life. The schedule for the workshop is 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and can be provided for all parish leaders whose ministries touch the lives of adolescents—including pastors, deacons, pastoral associates, coordinators of youth ministry, leaders in faith formation and catechists,Confirmation preparation leaders, and service/social concerns leaders.
