Clergy and Consecrated Life

The Office of Consecrated Life exists as a connector between the Archbishop and members of Institutes of consecrated life living or working in the Archdiocese of Detroit. The Delegate for Consecrated Life provides a pastoral presence and supports Institutes of consecrated life in fulfilling their particular mission and undertaking apostolic works for the welfare of God’s people. This office also collaborates with various religious communities, parishes and the Detroit Archdiocesan Vocation Association (DAVA) in the lofty mission of encouraging individuals who demonstrate a propensity toward or a yearning for consecrated life.

The mission of the Office of Consecrated Life (OCL) is to offer pastoral support to religious institutes and members as they work to achieve their goals and the goals of the Archdiocese of Detroit.

The purposes of the Office of Consecrated Life are to:

  • Provide timely communication to the Archbishop regarding religious institutes of consecrated life in the Archdiocese of Detroit
  • Share the goals of the Archdiocese of Detroit with persons living in consecrated life for the sake of holy collaboration
  • Support the apostolates, vocation efforts and membership of the religious institutes in the Archdiocese in whatever ways possible.
