Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Church of the Madonna, St. Benedict, and St. Gregory the Great

The Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Church of the Madonna, St. Benedict, and St. Gregory are already clustered. In early 2012, these clustered parishes are to move forward in developing a merger plan, which will include a transition to a maximum of two worship sites - one of which must be the Cathedral. Plans must include a realistic time frame for implementation, to be submitted to the Regional Moderator no later than June 30, 2012. Implementation may occur on an expedited basis if one of these parishes begins to experience a net operating deficit.

St. Bartholomew/St. Rita

St. Bartholomew/St. Rita is to identify a cluster partner in early 2012 and develop cluster plans to be submitted no later than June 30, 2012. The cluster plan should be implemented when a current pastor is no longer available, if a replacement is not available to be assigned, or when either parish begins to experience a net operating deficit. Plans should commence with models for initial collaboration and include contingency plans for programming, outreach and administration, and/or closing buildings, and planning for the sale of property. Upon becoming clustered, St. Bartholomew/St. Rita and its cluster partner will present, within one year, a plan to merge.

Assumption Grotto

Assumption Grotto is to develop a realistic plan to:

1. Pay its outstanding payables to the Archdiocese of Detroit; and,

2. Participate in all vicariate and archdiocesan activities, policies, and procedures, and follow through on Together in Faith, Phase Two implementation.

The payment plan is to be submitted to the Regional Moderator and the archdiocesan Director of Finance and Administration no later than June 30, 2012. In addition, Assumption Grotto is to identify a cluster partner in early 2012 and develop a cluster plan to be submitted no later than June 30, 2012. The cluster plan should be implemented when a current pastor is no longer available, if a replacement is not available to be assigned, or when either parish begins to experience a net operating deficit. Plans should commence with models for initial collaboration and include contingency plans for programming, outreach and administration, for clustering/merging the parishes, and/or closing buildings and planning for the sale of property.

St. Raymond/Our Lady of Good Counsel and Our Lady Queen of Heaven

The recently merged St. Raymond/Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish is already clustered with Our Lady Queen of Heaven. In early 2012, these parishes should develop a plan for activities/roles that could be shared, including the use of worship sites. This plan is to be submitted to the Regional Moderator no later than June 30, 2012. The plan should be implemented when a current pastor is no longer available, if a replacement is not available to be assigned, or when either parish begins to experience a net operating deficit. The plan should also consider the possibility of the parishes merging. Plans should commence with models for initial collaboration and include contingency plans for programming, outreach and administration, and/or closing buildings and planning for the sale of property. This may result in a short term, temporary administrator assigned, or a more permanent solution.
