Annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration in Corktown

Mass Celebrated by Archbishop Vigneron

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mar 16, 2017

On Friday, March 17, for the 183rd time in its parish history, Most Holy Trinity in Detroit’s Corktown neighborhood will observe the Feast of St. Patrick with a special liturgy. Archbishop Allen Vigneron will celebrate the noontime Mass, this year honoring the long-time former pastor of the parish, Msgr. Russ Kohler, who died last year on Good Friday. The sermon will be delivered by the current pastor, Msgr. Chuck Kosanke.

Known as the "Sharin’ O’ the Green," this annual tradition supports the ministries provided by the parish— food and clothing, medical and legal assistance, and quality Catholic education for the poor and marginalized in the area. A fundraising luncheon follows the Mass.

The media is invited to attend this event. Please follow the instructions of onsite staff from the parish and the Detroit archdiocese regarding best locations inside the church for cameras and microphones.
