Christopher Werner,
CYO Summer camp was the place to be this summer, as campers and staff journeyed on an “Adventure to the Summit!” On the first day of each program the staff greeted campers with enthusiasm, helping campers move into their bunks in preparation for the week’s activities. Each program was packed to the brim with excitement as the campers and staff enjoyed daily camp activities such as swimming in Lake Huron, archery, climbing wall, sports and games, arts and crafts, and many more! The summer Catechesis activities and weekly mass incorporated our theme, “Adventure to the Summit,” as campers and staff learned more about the joys and challenges of climbing the mountains of our faith and enriching our walk with Jesus. Each night the camp gathered for a large group evening activity centered on craziness, creativity, and fun! One of camp’s oldest traditions at the CYO Boys Camp is the Great Council Fire which is a special evening program that dates back over sixty years. It was the highlight of the week for many campers and it was a great opportunity to carry on a time honored tradition with another generation of CYO campers.  Here at CYO, we were so happy to have all these wonderful campers that helped to make our summer absolutely amazing, including 30 more campers than last summer! We hope to see everyone back again next summer and hope that new campers will join us!  ###
