On November 9, 2017 Father Daniel Nusbaum passed away. He was 83 years old.
Father Nusbaum was ordained for the Oblates of Mary Immaculate in Roviano, Italy on July 12, 1961. He incardinated into the Diocese of Albany on February 28, 1972. After his retirement and with the permission of his bishop, Father Nusbaum served in various capacities here in the Archdiocese of Detroit: as pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, Temperance; as Director of the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools for the Archdiocese; and as a faculty member of Sacred Heart Major Seminary.
At the request of Father Nusbaum, there will be no visitation. A funeral Mass for Father Nusbaum will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, Michigan 48182, on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. His burial will follow Mass.
Father Nusbaum is survived by his sister, Nancy Hammon and brother, Jerry Nusbaum, as well as many nieces and nephews. Condolences may be sent to his niece, Kathleen Meyer, 882 Dempster Street, Temperance, MI 48182.
