Father Leo BroderickMarch 1, 1930 - August 7, 2017 Our brother and fellow priest, Father Leo Broderick, passed on from this life on August 7, 2017 at the age of 87. Father Broderick was born March 1, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan and ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Detroit on June 2, 1956. Father Broderick served as Pastor of St. Nicholas Parish, Capac; St. John the Evangelist Parish, Allenton; St. Catherine of Alexandria Parish, Algonac; Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Waterford; St. Augustine Parish, Richmond; St. William Parish, Walled Lake; and St. Clement Parish, Dearborn. He served as Associate Pastor of St. Frances Cabrini Parish, Allen Park and on the faculty of St. John’s Provincial Seminary, Plymouth. He also served as Administrator at Holy Rosary Mission Parish, Columbus; St. Philip Neri Parish, Columbus; St. Barnabas Parish, Eastpointe; and All Saints Parish, Memphis. Visitation will take place at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, 5481 Dixie Highway, Waterford, on Friday, August 11, 2017, from 3 – 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. Father Broderick will lie in repose on Saturday, August 12, at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, 5481 Dixie Highway, Waterford, Michigan from 10 a.m. until the celebration of his funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Father Broderick was predeceased by his parents, James and Jennie Broderick; his sisters, Johanna Phalen and Alice Foguth; and his brothers, William, James, and Donald. He is survived by his brother, Daniel (Peggy) Broderick and his sister-in-law Sheila Broderick. Condolences may be sent to his nephew, Brian Broderick, 10374 Red Maple Dr., Plymouth, MI 48170. Kindly include in the general intercessions of your weekend liturgies a prayer for the repose of the soul of Father Broderick.
