Position Description

  • Assures the church, school and other parish buildings are maintained in a clean orderly manner. Accomplishes this by mopping and vacuuming of floors, cleaning bathrooms washing windows and changing light bulbs. 
  •  Assures the grounds are maintained in a clean and safe manner. 
  • Responsible for watering and lawn care, snow removal with hand shovels, blowing walkways, weeding, pruning and raking on a seasonal basis.
  • Performs minor maintenance of the rectory, church, school and/or other church buildings.
  • Responsible for hauling and moving items and picking up parts or other equipment as requested by staff. Assures the collection and disposal of trash and garbage.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies for lighting and cleaning and works with parish secretary to order supplies as needed.
  • Performs necessary painting as requested by pastor. 
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.



Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3 years of experience working in maintenance of a commercial or institutional facility. 
  • Successful work experience in minor repair work in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting a plus.
  • Successful work experience implementing a comprehensive cleaning plan for a facility, including sweeping, dusting, washing, waxing.
  • Successful work experience maintaining grounds, parking lots..   
  • Must be a self-starter
  • Must be willing to work in a Christian environment                     
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds; ability to walk and stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to bend and walk up and down stairs.
  • Able to honor and maintain confidentiality. 
  • Ability to provide own transportation for job-related responsibilities.
  • On-call availability for emergencies.
