Position Description

Reports To: Principal

Position Summary: The Marketing & Media Specialist is responsible for the development and implementation of St. Catherine of Siena Academy’s communication strategy, marketing of the school in alignment with the Academy’s mission and vision, and the school’s brand identity in public relations. The position requires an organized and creative self-starter with excellent communication and visual skills for print, video, and electronic communications who can analyze, expand, and execute our marketing plan. The focus of the position is to market the school through an increase in the school’s presence in the world to evangelize our mission and vision.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Strategize weekly social media content and distribution
  • Evaluate and develop the yearly marketing plan
  • Strategize on fundraising campaigns using digital and print media
  • Develop and manage website content and imagery
  • Create marketing materials for admissions, campaigns, appeals, newsletters and events
  • Creation of videos and podcasts which evangelize mission/vision
  • Participate in development and admissions events
  • Propose new ideas to improve event planning, development and admissions
  • Developing and managing the marketing budget
  • Additional marketing and media tasks as required by the Principal
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Creativity, consistency, coachability, and commitment to the mission of the school
  • Willingness to work with students, staff and parents in the school community
  • Effective written, listening and oral communication skills
  • A keen intuitive understanding of our target audience and our unique mission in the world
  • Strong knowledge of principles of marketing and social media and the ability to deliver material in timely manner
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Willingness to think outside the box and solve problems creatively.
  • Excellent process management skills and computer proficiency with software, Microsoft Office products and social media (i.e. Facebook, Instagram).
  • Advanced skills in photography, videography, Adobe Suite, In-Design and Website management.

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Be a practicing Catholic, very knowledgeable about the Catholic faith and actively involved in a parish.
  • Familiarity with and enthusiasm for Catholic teaching on the theology of the body, the new evangelization, and the “feminine genius”.
  • Have a Bachelor Degree or higher from an accredited institution.
  • Be able to easily engage people in dialogue about the mission and vision of the Academy.
