    In February 2012, after having received plans for each parish in the Archdiocese of Detroit, Archbishop Allen Vigneron issued a letter to the faithful of the archdiocese. This pastoral letter, titled Forward in Hope to Share Christ, was mailed to every household registered to a Catholic parish within the archdiocese. Along with it, parishioners received plans pertaining to their parish as well as the parishes in their areas.

    On June 30, 2015, Archbishop Allen Vigneron released his third pastoral letter as the Archbishop of Detroit. This letter is addressed to all priests and deacons within the archdiocese. Upon formally launching an archdiocesan-wide evangelization initiative and planning for a synod in November 2016, Archbishop Vigneron's letter focused on preaching, a matter integral to how we communicate and project our commitment to advance the New Evangelization.

    At the Pentecost Vigil in June of 2017, Archbishop Vigneron released his fourth pastoral letter as the Archbishop of Detroit. This letter is the result of Synod 16, where hundreds of Catholic priests, religious and laity gathered to discuss the future of the Archdiocese of Detroit and how we can become joyful missionary disciples with evangelization as our focus. This letter focuses on specific guideposts and action steps that will serve as a roadmap for the future of the Archdiocese.
