Youth Ministry in the Archdiocese of Detroit exists to provide direction and leadership to young and older adolescents. We encourage parishes and Catholic schools to be responsive to the spiritual, emotional, psychological, social and physical development of youth. In our efforts, Youth Ministry also strives to meet the three goals of the U.S. Bishops.
- To empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today.
- To draw young people to a responsible participation in the life, mission and work of the Catholic faith community.
- To foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person.
Our vision for youth ministry in the Archdiocese of Detroit is one that is created for children but also one that includes their help in reaching our goals.
We are committed to the personal and spiritual growth of young people but we want to be sure that they too participate in the life, vision and mission of their community.
Our goal is to ensure that young people in the Archdiocese of Detroit become disciples of Jesus Christ and actively witness their faith. Every adult is responsible for guiding young people and welcoming them as complete and equal members of our faith community.
