We have a moral mandate to create an environment which fully recognizes the dignity, rights, and potential of all people. The strength and worth of the human person are not granted by government decree or by the judgment of the community.
Over the centuries, the Scriptures and the Church have consistently proclaimed that every human life is a precious gift of a loving God. That fact alone should be enough to require respect and reverence for every human person.
